Bulatom 2015

In June 3-5, 2015, at the Riviera Holiday Club, Varna this year International Nuclear Conference “Bulgarian Nuclear Agency – National, Regional and World Energy Security" was held by Bulatom-Bulgarian Atomic Forum. The Conference was attended by Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly, Kiril Tzochev, Deputy Minister of Energy, Nikolay Nikolov,  Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Energy Commission, Valentin Nikolov, their Excellences  Ambassadors of Japan – Takashi Koizumi,  of France – Xavier Lapeyre de Cabanes, of Slovakia – Marian Jakubocy, of the Republic of South Africa – Vanessa Calvert, representatives of the Embassies in Bulgaria of the Czech Republic  and Turkey,  Deputy Chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Agency, Aleksey Alekssiev,   President of the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria, Solomon Passy, Vladimir Uruchev from the European Parliament, scientists from  the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, experts from leading companies in nuclear area.

The status and the perspectives of the development of nuclear energy in Bulgaria and in the world were discussed. The presented reports and papers provided interesting ways to solve issues arising in the construction and operation of nuclear facilities.

Once again Risk Engineering was among the most active participants in the forum and all the presentations made by the company aroused interest.  

At the forum this year, for the first time in Bulgaria representatives of the major producers of equipment, such as Rosatom, Westinghouse and Areva, were brought together.

The participants in the Conference signed a declaration that was sent to the Prime Minister, the Chairman of the National Assembly and the President of the Republic of Bulgaria.  The document declares that the lack of a decision on the future of the nuclear sector will have drastic consequences for the fragile Bulgarian industry, as well as for all the individual consumers of electric energy, and any delay of such a decision will lead to a final closing of the branch.
